Priti Patel, M.A. (she/her), is a mental health clinician, holding dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and Neuroscience from Regis College, and her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. Priti’s integrative therapeutic style is composed of attachment-focused, behavioral, and neuroscience-informed modalities as shown below.
Attachment-focused therapies: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Psychodynamic Therapy
Behavioral therapies: Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Neuroscience-informed therapies: Neuro-education and Somatic Therapy
Priti's Approach to care:
Priti embodies a preventive and collaborative approach to care, prioritizing early intervention, prevention, and longevity. She works closely with her clients while actively partnering with primary care providers, psychiatrists, gynecologists, dietitians, and school counselors to ensure thoughtful, comprehensive care across all aspects of health.
Priti integrates her expertise in neuroscience with a compassionate, evidence-informed approach to psychotherapy. She recognizes that trauma affects not only relationships and attachment patterns, but also neurobiology, psychiatric symptoms, and medical health. This perspective informs her treatment approach, including careful consideration of medication management, and the mind–body connection. She is committed to helping clients feel understood and supported, while facilitating more adaptive, connected, and meaningful lives.
At the heart of Priti’s clinical work is a deep belief that healing occurs within safe, secure, and attuned relationships. Her counseling approach is warm, collaborative, and relational, rooted in fostering a sense of safety and acceptance. She views the therapeutic relationship as a central conduit for transformation and growth, meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they come home to themselves. Priti supports clients in reconnecting with their inner child, reclaiming their identities, and expanding their capacity to hold grief throughout life.
The populations Priti Specializes in:
Priti has experience providing outpatient and inpatient mental health services to adolescents, adults, and families. She works as both a generalist and as a women's mental health specialist. As a generalist, she specializes in the following diagnoses: anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, and trauma-related disorders across all genders.
As a women's mental health specialist, Priti supports both women and adolescent girls recovering from complex trauma, PMDD, anxiety and depression, eating disorders/body-image disturbances, infertility, and perinatal mental health. With extensive experience treating women diagnosed with PCOS, endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, and related reproductive health concerns, Priti recognizes the powerful intersection between gynecological and mental health.
With a specific focus on healthy female adolescent development, Priti helps adolescent girls cultivate emotional resilience and navigate gender specific challenges associated with female adolescence. Priti understands that adolescence can be a tender, and often overwhelming stage of life, marked by social pressures, identity exploration, and emotional intensity. She has particular experience supporting teen girls recovering from complex early childhood trauma, including the lasting effects of early parental substance abuse, grief, bullying, attachment disruptions, and other adverse childhood experiences. Through a trauma-informed and compassionate approach, Priti helps young women build self-understanding, strengthen coping skills, develop healthy relationships, and move toward healing and growth.
Who is Priti Outside of the Therapy Room?
When she's not working with clients, Priti enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies include exploring new coffee shops, strength training, cooking, traveling, and reading action, adventure, and high fantasy novels. From the age of eight, Priti was taught Garba, a traditional folk dance from Gujarat, India, by her mother. She is currently learning Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form originating from Tamil Nadu, India. For Priti, culture, tradition, food, movement, and storytelling are meaningful ways to stay connected to herself, her heritage, and her community. She finds joy in exploring life through dance, strength training, new culinary experiences, and the immersive worlds found in books.
