Life is tough. I see you wanting to get more quality out of your life. You might be the gladiator of a high achiever dragging around anxiety, autism, ADHD or a difficult past. Or maybe life got harder than that lately - like putting your feet on the floor is too hard today. Listen, I've been there myself. You're safe here. I got you. Let's get curious about you. You are the expert of your life; I'm right here with you handing you tools. Yes, I have the ground-breaking therapies. You’re the expert on your life. I’m here to walk alongside you and offer tools that fit. I often use CBT and DBT for practical work. I'm currently in training for EMDR. Next Steps: Just say hey. I'll respond less than a couple hours during my office hours. Or call the number and leave me a message. If I'm not in session or out of office, I'll answer your call myself. No couch. No traffic. Therapy is a chat by videocall - bring your own cat and coffee.
Madeline (Maddi) DeBoer holds her Masters of Social Work and is licensed in both Iowa and Alabama. Maddi specializes in working with clients who struggle with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders such as body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), which include hair-pulling and skin-picking (trichotillomania and excoriation disorder). Maddi has pursued specialized training in the treatment of BFRBs through the TLC Foundation for BFRBs, and is the only provider in Iowa (and one of two in Alabama) who has pursued this advanced training. She also works with those with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), anxiety related to life adjustments and stressors, and specific phobias. She strives to deliver compassionate and effective treatment to clients using evidenced-based approaches. Maddi received her B.S. in psychology at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul and her M.A. in social work from the University of Northern Iowa, where she extensively studied trauma-informed and evidenced-based practices. Since she received her license and degree, Maddi has worked in a variety of clinical settings running partial hospitalization and therapy groups and practicing individual and family therapy. She made the transition to a private group practice a year ago and thrives in helping clients find ways to successfully manage their specific anxieties. Maddi is also a certified yoga teacher.
Your body holds the wisdom to heal. As a body-centered, mindfulness-based psychotherapist, I blend practices from the East and West, evidence-based interventions with spirituality, movement with introspection. I work with highly sensitive, empathic clients to help them build healthier relationships, let go of substances and patterns that no longer serve them, improve self-esteem, find freedom from anxiety and depression, and come home to their bodies. I believe in the healing power of embodiment to help my clients recover. In my work, there is always space for vulnerable moments, profound realizations, uninhibited emotions, and very often, deep belly laughs. As a fellow traveler along the path, I understand profound loss and trauma. With an extensive background in substance abuse and trauma treatment, I get that mental health challenges can take over your life. Using a holistic and tailored approach, I will work with you to treat the underlying causes of substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and other symptoms of trauma. As a body-centered psychotherapist, I take a “bottom-up” or “embodied” approach to trauma-focused modalities, including EMDR. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy for additional support in treating treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, and other trauma symptoms. If you want to break free from the symptoms of trauma, begin a healing journey, or simply improve your overall well being, I’d love to help you get there.
Our happiness in life is often dependent on the quality of our relationships. Struggles with communication, dysfunctional patterns of relating, and wounds from the past can leave a potentially great relationship in tatters. If you and your partner are struggling, you are recovering from divorce, or are newly entering the dating scene, I’m here to help. With extensive training and experience in couple’s counseling and healing of relationship issues of all kinds, I provide a safe, kind, and insightful approach that will get you back on track to create loving, supportive, and satisfying relationships. In addition to my psychology degrees, I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Hello, I am now offering group therapy tailored to young adults. With your busy schedule in mind, groups are all online. Groups are focused on issues that are relevant to college aged students such as relationships, processing life transitions, creating healthy habits, and regulating your emotions. Groups are small at about 5-8 people to ensure that you get the most out of this service. I meet with clients 1-2 times before starting you in a group. I can't wait to get to know you! The current groups offered are: 1. Emotional Wellness for College Students 2. Young Women's Process Group
I work with teens and adults navigating life’s challenges, including anxiety, transitions, relationship struggles, self-esteem, and more. My approach is grounded in authenticity, empathy, and collaboration. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel understood, empowered, and supported as you explore what matters most to you. I welcome all identities and backgrounds and am committed to creating a space where you feel seen and respected. I often incorporate Griz, my gentle and loyal black lab, into sessions to offer a calm and comforting presence. His warmth and intuition help many clients feel more at ease, especially during difficult conversations or emotional moments. Whether he’s resting quietly nearby or offering a tail wag at just the right time, Griz adds a unique layer of connection and support to the therapeutic process.
College can bring a lot: new freedom, pressure to succeed, and the stress of figuring out who you are and where you are headed. Many of the students I work with feel weighed down by anxiety, burnout, overthinking, imposter syndrome, or the pressure to be perfect. Others are coping with ADHD, past/current trauma, anxiety and social anxiety or just the everyday stress of classes, relationships, and big transitions. With 12 years of experience working in university counseling centers, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges of college and graduate students' lives. In our work together, you will find a supportive space to talk honestly about what is on your mind, learn coping tools to manage stress, and feel more grounded and confident. My goal is to help you feel less alone and more able to handle the challenges of college life.
As humans, we are subjected to the many ups, and downs life throws at us. One of my favorite quotes that I use as a core principle to help clients is, "Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." Meaning we can choose, and we have to power to regain a rich, full, meaningful life. If you are ready to break old patterns, live a life in the direction of your values, and accept all parts of yourself, then you are already on your path of personal growth. My goal is to walk alongside you through this journey and provide support and empowerment to live a heart-driven, meaningful life. I use a variety of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT). I can help you identify and build a value-driven life, help with troubling thoughts and feelings, and utilize mindfulness, to help you connect your mind and body as coping skills to better serve you.

“Hey there, I’m Brandon! I conceptualize therapy not as a static moment in time, but as an active, winding journey. I utilize Narrative and Somatic Therapies to challenge problematic stories we tell ourselves and rewrite our roles in them, learning how to live presently and understand emotion, especially as it exists within our bodies. Additionally, I specialize in trauma work with Brainspotting and Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to heal and integrate adverse experiences. My joy has been in working with multi-racial/cultural clients, the LGBT+ community, and other adults dealing with life transition! The individual who usually finds the most growth with me is someone who is ready to enact positive, healthy change in their life and build/foster beneficial relationships. My client can rely on me to challenge thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve, but especially to support, encourage, and be a safe place to land!”
