Dr. Erica Faulhaber wants to teach you tools to take your life back. Dr. Erica Faulhaber is passionate about recovery. When we work together, there is a shift in perspective from a victim to survivor. She has experience working at an eating disorder treatment facility along with volunteering time to facilitate eating disorder support groups. Her background also includes experience in working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, in running support groups to help with the healing process. Recovery IS possible for you! I support those who are seeking relief regarding stress from life transitions/anxiety, exploring healing from previous traumatic experiences, and those navigating the complexity of grief and family relationships. I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing). EMDR is an approach that allows the brain and body to process and reprocess distressing experiences. This integrative and empowering process is led by you and allows trauma to heal. Previous clients have described my approach as warm, attentive, and clear. I strives to create a non-judgmental space for exploring, supporting, and healing. If you are in a life transition, starting a new adventure, wanting to explore old patterns that are no longer useful, or are curious about new coping skills, I may be a good fit!
If anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, phobias or depressive thoughts take up too much space in your life, I will work with you to uncover their sources. You can establish and engage in useful coping skills that will allow you to spend less time battling your thoughts and more time living the life you want. If you're a couple struggling with relationship concerns, I will work with you to restore harmony in your relationship and strengthen your connection. I aim to provide a safe, warm and non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore their emotions, while also feeling comfortable and validated when sharing experiences, thoughts and behaviors. I practice using evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as self-compassion and mindfulness techniques. Gottman Method Couples Therapy informs my work with couples. If you choose therapy as a next step, I would be honored to work with you and support you in your journey of self-growth and healing! “You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward. Sometimes, healing begins the moment you decide to give yourself a chance.” Therapy is not just about identifying or correcting what’s “wrong”—it’s about rediscovering strengths that are already within you. While we may explore the pain, trauma, and roadblocks of your past and present, we will also work together on identifying what’s working, nurturing your strengths, and helping you build a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are. As a clinician, I work from a place of deep empathy, lived experience, and belief in the resilience of the human spirit. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and centered on you as the expert of your own story. I bring a diverse clinical background across mental and behavioral health settings—ranging from inpatient work to community-based care coordination—and I’m passionate about making healing accessible, practical, and rooted in real life. My role is to help you get clear on your goals, discover what’s already working (even if it doesn’t feel like it yet), and explore new ways to respond to the challenges you’re facing. I use an integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based practices such as DBT, CBT, ACT, and internal family systems, all within a trauma informed approach. I tailor sessions to the individual in front of me—because I know there’s no linear path to healing. Whether you’re navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, shame, life transitions, chronic stress, or simply feeling stuck; our work together will honor where you’ve been while helping you reimagine where you’re going. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults, and I have a special interest in helping those going through personal reinvention, major life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by their roles and expectations. I hold space for those who may be struggling with self-esteem, burnout, interpersonal conflict, or simply trying to figure out who they are in a world that doesn’t always make that easy. I am a passionate advocate for maintaining recovery from substance use and eating disorders. I am an LGBTQ+ and gender-affirming therapist, and I strive to provide culturally responsive, anti-oppressive care rooted in social justice. I understand the importance of autonomy and authenticity, especially for those who have felt misunderstood or unseen. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to show up as your full self—messy, uncertain, brilliant, and worthy of healing.
My practice supports individuals, families, and systems in working through trauma, substance use, identity development, and relationship challenges. I specialize in working with young adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, and those navigating motivation difficulties, emotional neglect, complex trauma or life transitions. With a grounded, creative, and often humorous approach, I integrate Brainspotting, contemplative psychotherapy, and sex therapy (AASECT-certified), along with elements of DBT, play therapy, and mindfulness-based relapse prevention. I also help clients with integration of spiritual experiences and psychedelic work. Whether in individual or family work, I aim to help clients cultivate emotional autonomy, find congruence between values and action, and build meaningful connections within themselves and their communities.
If you're looking for a kind and compassionate yet smart and straightforward counselor, give me a call. I specialize in teenagers and young adults with anxiety and depression, especially with estrangement issues such as conflict with parents, divorced and/or deployed parents, as well as career planning. I am a Christian and can offer help from a biblical perspective if desired. My other specialties are older adults and military/veterans. My previous career was as a diplomat for the U.S. Department of State.
Drawing from 10+ years of clinical experience, I use a solution-focused approach to teach skills to overcome worry, depression, anger, stress, guilt, low self-esteem, sleep issues, relationship struggles, and parenting challenges. My clients and I work on improving their wellness and their lives by exploring helpful solutions, perspectives, and habits.
