My goal as a therapist is to support you during difficult life transitions. These transitions may include starting college, searching for jobs, adjusting to roommates, and exploring gender and sexuality for yourself. Transitions and changes may evoke a sense of grief and loss, regardless if it's positive, negative, or neutral. As a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist, I can help you with the difficult emotions that are associated with these changes. Our sessions would focus on finding the root of your symptoms, processing your grief, and starting your healing journey. Although my specialty is grief and loss, I address a wide variety of concerns, including emotional regulation, managing anxiety and depression, healing from childhood trauma, and increasing resilience. Often, our symptoms can be traced back to the losses and trauma experienced in our lives. I often utilize Accelerated Resolution Therapy to treat these symptoms as well. Please visit my website for more information.

An inherent promise of the therapeutic relationship is that it offers us the possibility of grace - to be accepted for who we are. This is why I strive in my practice to connect individuals with the "curious paradox" that Carl Rogers spoke of - namely, "when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." My years in practice have led me to appreciate how the most impactful change in therapy comes not through the exorcising of some fundamental flaw - i.e. "I will love myself only when I am not myself" - but through fostering a more intimate relationship to ourselves, friends, those we call family, and to our communities. I possess a gentle strength and innate curiosity, and I utilize an integrative approach that incorporates interpersonal therapy, cognitive behavioral therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), as well as somatic practices. I am also a certified grief therapist. I work with adult (18+) clients seeking support for anxiety and mood disorders, shame/self esteem concerns, grief work, creativity, and personal growth. In addition, I have a life-long involvement in the arts, so I welcome the opportunity to support others experiencing the unique successes and struggles that accompany the creative life.

Navigating the transition to college and early adulthood can be exciting, but it can also be incredibly stressful and overwhelming. Are you struggling to manage the pressures of academics, relationships, or being away from home? Do you find yourself constantly worrying, feeling down, or having difficulty sleeping? Are you experiencing conflict with parents, peers, or even professors? Are you questioning whether college is the right path for you, or if you're pursuing it due to external pressure? Everyone experiences some level of stress during this time, but if these feelings are persistent and impacting your daily life, or causing significant relationship strain, it might be helpful to talk to someone. Counseling provides a safe space to explore these challenges, develop coping strategies, and clarify your own goals and values. Our virtual sessions offer the flexibility to meet before, between, or after classes, making it easier than ever to prioritize your mental well-being as you navigate this new chapter. I am a clinical psychologist who specializes in adolescence and young adulthood. I completed a fellowship at Mclean Hospital in Adolescent Mental Health. I was previously a psychologist at Mclean Hospital's Klarman Eating Disorders Center where I specialized in the care of individuals struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and associated concerns. I enjoy working collaboratively with a client, couple, or family to understand how someone's struggles relate to their larger goals, hopes, and motivations and how to work to understand their experiences together and move closer to those goals. I use approaches to therapy that focus on understanding the role and functions of emotions and behaviors, understanding someone's experience in the context of relationships, and utilizing strengths and competencies in the therapy process. In addition to individual therapy, I have a passion for working with couples, families, and in relationship based therapies. I also provide parent consultation for parents supporting their child or adult child through an eating disorder. Please reach out if you have any questions and would like to schedule a complementary initial phone consultation.

Do you want to feel connected to others? Are you looking to transform an emotional wound? Are you seeking hope? You deserve to feel known and seen and understood. You deserve to feel permanent. As a queer, nonbinary, polyamorous therapist, I understand the importance of developing secure attachments in order to navigate the world. I offer individual and relationship therapy. I work with teens, young adults, and adults to explore gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and relationships. I take a collaborative approach to the therapeutic relationship and tailor sessions to your goals in therapy. As we work together this may look like traditional talk therapy or an embodied drama therapy approach. If you are looking for a therapeutic modality that moves beyond verbal processing into a somatic practice, drama therapy is a good option. Through metaphor, we can explore trauma while minimizing retraumatization. We can explore roles like the hero, the optimist, and the child. Through play, we can connect and transform.

I strive to provide a safe space to work through emotions and find effective ways to manage them. I help people process past experiences and current reactions that affect the decisions we make in order to promote healthy change and understanding of ourselves and our patterns. Oftentimes, we are not aware of the underlying things that influence our gut reactions which can create a barrier to us meeting the goals we set for ourselves. Counseling is a way to help you understand yourself better and to break down those barriers that stop you from moving forward. I have a wide range of experience in helping people navigate identity, trauma, anxiety, and ADHD. I like to really meet people where they are at in their therapy goals, get to know where you want to be, and help you develop skills and tools that will help you meet those goals. I am big on self-compassion and building confidence that can create success.

The typical challenges people face are embedded in fear of rejection, loneliness and disconnection - not feeling likable and lovable. Meaningful living can be achieved by acknowledging this fear and acting intentionally to create love, authenticity, and congruence. I believe effective counseling is grounded in a trusting and affirming working alliance. I work from an interpersonal perspective, meaning our professional relationship is the key to a positive and productive experience. Grounding my training in Existential-Humanistic theory, I seek to support your effort to find personal meaning and self-understanding, to explore your lived experience and discover the most genuine you. I offer support to achieve insight and the tools to cultivate purposeful transformation, enabling you to live a meaningful life in the face of uncertainty and potential suffering. We all take turns with suffering; we all take turns with joy. You can feel accomplished and connected; I can help.
