Therapists for college students near Georgia State University
I specialize in supporting high-achieving professionals—especially those in academia or the helping profession (doctors, nurses, therapists, pastors)—who grapple with perfectionism, difficulty setting boundaries, codependency, and the challenge of prioritizing their own needs amidst the many demands of their personal and professional lives. As an immigrant, I bring a rich, cross-cultural perspective to therapy and a deep appreciation for how culture shapes identity, relationships, and mental health. Many of my clients are navigating complex intersections of cultural expectations, academic roles, and personal values. In addition to my clinical practice, I am a professor and active researcher. My academic work focuses on interpersonal trauma and its impact on relationships and meaning-making. This dual identity as both clinician and scholar informs my approach: deeply reflective, integrative, and grounded in both science and lived experience. I work exclusively via Telehealth with adult clients residing in GA, MI, and TX. I believe that meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship—one that offers both safety and challenges patterns by providing direct and honest feedback. If you're ready to invest in yourself and your well-being, I invite you to reach out.

My name is Danielle Veader and I work with young adults that are struggling to find balance and enjoyment in their lives. The stress of early adulthood can be really overwhelming. Class work, parental expectations, and navigating relationships is challenging. Anxiety, depression, and/or a general sense of feeling lost can seep in. I work with clients to help them better understand and manage their emotions. I partner with them to acquire the tools and skills to better cope with the inevitable stressors of life. We all understand that life can be hard, but no one has to navigate it alone.

One of my happy places is the beach. I am from the beautiful island of Jamaica and some of my most treasured memories and happiest times were spent at the beach. Living in Atlanta, I am not able to go to the beach as often as I would like, therefore, I bring the beach into my daily life through relaxation skills, music, décor, and my general mindset. As your therapist, my hope is that I can help you find your “happy place.” This may be a place, a person, a pet, an activity... anything that nourishes your mind, body and soul. I welcome the opportunity to help you learn how to develop solutions, feel empowered, and create a healthy lifestyle filled with joy, stability, self-acceptance, emotional well-being, and ultimately, happiness.
Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Caroline (she/her) and I’m a therapist, avid reader, creative, reality TV enthusiast, and proud dog mom. I specialize in identity work, and provide queer- and trans-affirming care. I also work with folks navigating trauma, addiction, binge eating disorder, body image concerns, anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD & more. My goal is always to cultivate a therapeutic relationship where you can show up fully and honestly, and feel deeply supported (because I am on your team!) We might work well together if you’re looking for someone empathic and laidback, who also challenges you. I invite you to get curious about how your lived experiences impact who you are and how you engage with the world. I also trust your innate wisdom as the expert of your own life. I believe that therapy is political and that we are all deeply impacted by the systems in which we exist. I receive weekly consultation regarding anti-racist and anti-oppressive therapeutic practices, and I seek to maintain a practice in which people of all identities do not simply feel tolerated, but feel deeply understood, accepted, and nurtured.
Within my practice, I have diligently developed a way to blend person-centered counseling, trauma-informed care, and spiritual wellness to guide individuals to noticeable relief during life transitions, self-worth struggles, emotional wounds, and other various challenges. I work with young and maturing individuals ready for emotional awareness, self-worth restoration, and spiritual realignment. My clients seek a safe space to break free, rediscover, and become who they were created to be—whole, worthy, and beautifully aligned. I work collaboratively with you to set meaningful, realistic goals that reflect your values and areas where you desire healing or growth. We explore your story, identify what's weighing you down, and clarify what realignment looks like for you—whether that's increased self-worth, better coping skills, or deeper spiritual connection.

I have worked with clients with various diagnoses and those seeking assistance in self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, parenting, and grief and loss, among others. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe in establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients to work together to achieve established goals in a safe and trusting environment. It takes courage to ask for help and seeking support in therapy is the first step in making a positive change. Are you are stuck in a job you hate, aren’t sure if you should stay in your current relationship, or just feel in a “funk” from time to time? If so, therapy is for you. I use a solution-focused approach to help you find the answers you are looking for. I enjoy working with adults (and older teens) who can’t quite figure out how to live their best lives. I specialize in couples – before marriage, when you still have stars in your eyes, after marriage when things are a bit harder than you thought they’d be, and towards the potential end of marriage, when you need to make the tough decision to either stay together or not. My typical clients are high achieving, and motivated people who need some guidance in a particular area of their life, I'll work with you to identify patterns (and people) that keep you stuck, and help find a path forward. I'll also show you how to set boundaries and identify what you can and cannot control, so you can move forward confidently. Sometimes the most difficult part of therapy can be making the decision to start. I am located in the heart of historic Kirkwood in-town Atlanta neighborhood and, am available to do telehealth (video calls) on a case-by-case basis. Give me a call or email today to set up an initial free 15 minute phone consult to see if we would be a good fit!
