Therapists for college students near Boston, MA
I am thrilled to announce the opening of THRIVE Psychiatric Care, LLC with my partner Elizabeth Morrison AGNP-C, PMHNP- BC. Together we bring over 39 years of psychiatric and primary care experience to the residents of MA. We offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management services to adults age 18 and over in the state of MA. I take an integrative, whole-person approach to care. That means I look beyond symptoms to understand your full story—what’s going on in your body, your environment, and your life—and tailor treatment to you. Whether we’re working together on mood, anxiety, cognitive changes, or managing life transitions, my goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care that aligns with your values and needs.
Hi! I’m Jocelyn, a psychiatric nurse practitioner passionate about supporting women and anyone who identifies with womanhood through life’s ups and downs. I specialize in helping clients manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma, and I have a special interest in perinatal mental health. College and young adulthood can bring so many transitions—new responsibilities, shifting identities, and sometimes overwhelming stress. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can feel seen and supported. In our sessions, I combine medication management with brief, solution-focused therapy to help you better understand your mind, build coping skills, and feel more balanced day to day. I especially enjoy working with BIPOC, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ students and young adults who are exploring growth, healing, and self-discovery.
Starting therapy is a big step—one that takes courage. College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Maybe you're struggling with the weight of past experiences, feeling lost about your future, or dealing with relationship challenges that leave you unsure of where you stand. Balancing all of this while trying to keep up with school and daily life can feel like too much to handle on your own. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Therapy is a space where you can bring your full self—your worries, frustrations, hopes, and uncertainties—without fear of judgment. My goal is to help you make sense of what feels messy, reconnect with your strengths, and navigate the challenges that are holding you back. I specialize in working with college students and understand the unique struggles that come with this stage of life. If you're curious about how therapy might help, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. Feel free to check out my website or send me an email with any questions. No matter what you're facing, you're not alone, and I'm here to support you.
Here for you! Are you struggling with school/work, feeling anxious and/or depressed and not sure how to manage these feelings? Do you feel like you aren't measuring up to those around you? Do you constantly worry about what life will hand you next? Or feel like you can't get out of bed and be a successful member of society? Need support dealing with life's challenges or someone to help you set goals and objectives? Life can be challenging and it can be helpful to have someone alongside you instead of facing challenges alone. No two people are the same and therefore therapy should not be either. Therapy doesn’t have to feel like a chore! For over 10 yrs, I have worked with teens, college students and adults, specializing in anxiety, depression and stress management. I have been told that I am relatable and easy to talk with and always impartial. We will work together to explore skills and coping strategies in a positive and supportive environment to help you feel like your best self. Services are private pay and I also offer a super bill for you to submit to your insurance company for Out of Network reimbursement. You owe it to yourself to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if I can be the right fit to help support you along your journey. I look forward to hearing from you! A graduate of Simmons University, licensed in Massachusetts (Massachusetts / 122825 / LICSW) and working in the field for over 10 years.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and specialize in providing psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. My approach integrates a variety of evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, humanistic, and mindfulness based therapies. I have been effective at utilizing these treatment modalities to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss, and other clinical concerns. Clients also come to my practice to improve relationships and navigate stressful life changes.
Are you struggling with transitions? Are you having problems with limit setting? Relationship issues with friends or family members? Transitioning from elementary school to middle school? For the past 25 years, I have helped patients and their families with these issues and many more as a Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. As Medical Director at Boston Children’s Hospital and at Metro West Medical Center, I have supported families through these various issues. I have an active faculty appointment at both Harvard University and Tufts University. I provide both individual therapy and family therapy when working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have treated anxiety, depression, ADHD and Bipolar disorder in medically complicated individuals. I emphasize diet, exercise, collaborative communication between caretakers and sleep hygiene before prescribing medications. As a parent of two teenagers myself, I am aware of the pressures that children, teenagers and young adults face today. Through my faculty roles, I have collaborated with mental health clinicians and other providers and absolutely love using a team approach when helping individuals. I am actively involved with teaching Child Psychiatry to Psychiatry residents.
For anyone who has ever been accused of being too emotional, too sensitive, too wild; for anyone who doesn't fit into the boxes society has created for us; for anyone who has struggled to find their place in the world-- you are the kinds of clients I want to work with. I invite you to join me in an exploration of self, where you are the expert of your own life and I am your guide, supporting you on your path to becoming. With your consent, I will hold space for you and will be honored to be a witness to your growth. What does it mean to hold space? It means the way in which we connect, the way in which I help you to feel safe, knowing that I will accept and validate your feelings and experiences while still holding you accountable, but always with the utmost softness and tenderness. I will assist you in finding your voice- that is, learning how to identify and verbalize what you want and need for yourself and from others. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, which, as a queer therapist, is extremely important to me. I have a great deal of training and experience in unpacking and exploring different aspects of identity, primarily gender and sexuality. I am skilled in supporting individual clients as well as their families through these journeys.
In my counseling work I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups. My clients include people struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. My relational and existential approach helps me understand and connect with my clients. I believe that the intent of therapy is exchanging "symptoms" for "coping skills." To accomplish this transformation, we need to understand our past to shed light on who we are in the present, where we have the power to focus on present issues and make changes that will influence our future. I see psychotherapy as a learning process. I bring my knowledge and understanding of psychological phenomena to bear on my client's life experiences. Psychotherapy is not an easy process, but I work to meet you, the client, where you are and to create safe space to explore and grow. In addition to psychotherapy work, I'm an adjunct faculty at Lesley University, where I teach Introduction to Psychology and Child Psychology. I have completed my psychoanalysis fellowship with the IPE, which is affiliated with the New York University School of Medicine. I'm also a certified Cognitive Behavioral group therapist.
I support adolescents, college students, and young adults, struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating, including concerns that often co-occur such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and self-harm. I aim to provide a collaborative and compassionate space where clients feel supported as they face challenges and better understand themselves. I believe clients come to therapy with an inner wisdom, and my role is to help them access that insight so they can live more authentically. I have extensive experience working with eating disorders and meet clients where they are to support recovery at their own pace. I offer a nonjudgmental, collaborative space to explore how eating disorders, self-harm, and other coping behaviors may have helped you get through difficult times. We move at a pace that aligns with your goals while gently challenging and building understanding and supporting small, values-based steps towards change. Reaching out for therapy takes a great deal of courage. My goal is to explore what change might look like for you, at your pace. I place strong value on the therapeutic relationship and invite you to schedule a consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
Are you feeling overwhelmed in relationships, work, home life, school, or career? Are you looking for relief from addictions, anxiety, trauma? Are you feeling dissatisfied often? I strive to build trust and strong relationships, and create a supportive environment, so my clients feel safe and heard. My therapy can provide an emotional release and a sense of really being understood and supported. The support and service I can offer can give you the comfort and hope you need to overcome your relationship struggles, career challenges, or conflict at work or at home. I have extensive experience in helping older adolescents and adults make changes to reach their full potential, develop self-confidence, and build resilience. I focus on strengths-based therapy to help you find your tools and strengths to thrive. I use CBT, talk therapy, and rapid eye movement to help release any PTSD, anxiety, fears, or depression. I can work on changing your negative cognitive distortions, behaviors, or other areas that can promote your healing. We find healthier coping mechanisms to triggers, so you can reduce your unwanted behaviors, and become more resilient to advocate for you. Seeing a therapist can be life changing and I can help you live a better and happier life. Reach out.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works with individuals 13yo+ and offers individual and family therapy. In addition to my private practice, I spent the last eight years working at acute care programs at McLean Hospital with adolescents and their parents, supervised pre- and postdoctoral trainees, and carried an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. I actively participate in sessions by asking questions and collaborating with you in order to help you achieve your goals. My patients utilize sessions in various ways, such as processing the challenges they are facing and stressful aspects of their lives, working on developing insight into relationship patterns, learning more effective methods of coping, eliciting feedback to communicate their needs more effectively to their supports, better understanding and learning to more effectively manage the intensity of their emotions, exploring various facets of their identity, processing shame and factors impacting their self-esteem, finding ways to live more consistently by their values, and better understanding and/or changing unhelpful behaviors or patterns. I integrate evidence-based treatment interventions, as needed and in a flexible way, to empower you to reduce the impact of your symptoms. I respect that everyone's goals and needs in therapy are different so I am happy to work with you short-term for skills-based work or to work through a time-limited issue, or on an ongoing, longer-term basis. My patients have described me as curious, compassionate, funny, validating, and thoughtful, as well as direct when needed. I look forward to meeting you and please feel free to reach out to ask questions if you have them!

I am a clinical psychologist with 15 years’ experience working with clients in a variety of settings and presenting with a wide range of diagnoses and concerns including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, workplace issues, relationship issues, perinatal mood disorders, parent child attachment difficulties, and parenting challenges. I have worked with children, adolescents, college students and adults. one of my practice areas focuses on providing therapy to college and graduate students. While this can be an exciting and inspiring time, there are many factors (identity issues, social anxiety, academic pressures, relationship problems, ect) that can also make it a challenging time to navigate. I use my clinical experience in college settings and in private practice to help college students process feelings and develop coping skills so they can feel more competent and confident. My years of experience has taught me that the fit between a therapist and the client is a significant factor in whether a client feels their therapy is helpful. I use my intuition to tailor my therapeutic approach to each individual client so that we both feel that we are moving forward in a way that feels supportive and productive.
