Therapists for college students near Cambridge, MA
I work with adults of all ages, and particularly enjoy helping college students struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and developmental issues that are prominent at this life stage. I provide a warm, collaborative environment within which I help my clients develop curiosity, self-compassion, and the courage to make important changes. I incorporate psychodynamic, relational, experiential/emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches in my interventions. I take an active approach to help my clients achieve their goals and resolve their problems. I see people in person in both my Wellesley Square and Coolidge Corner (Brookline) offices. I am also available for zoom sessions on a secure, end to end encrypted account.

As humans, we inherently seek meaningful connection and understanding. When our emotions, experiences, and struggles go unseen or unheard, we may feel distressed, isolated, and even question our sense of self. In my practice, I take an integrative, client-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approach to therapyāone that honors the complexities of your lived experiences while affirming your individuality. Rooted in the principles of social justice, embodied social justice, anti-oppression, and queer affirmation, my work ensures that therapy is not just a space for healing but also one for empowerment. I believe that understanding āwhatā has shaped your experiences offers insight into āwhyā you might think, feel, and behave the way you do. This awareness allows us to collaboratively explore āhowā we can help you achieve your goals and foster meaningful growth ā holistically. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." I am committed to providing a space where you feel truly seen, understood, and comfortableāone where you can explore, embrace, and reconnect with your most authentic self.
I believe that your own creative process is the arena for greater self-awareness. I am transparent and authentic in my responses and find this to be the cornerstone of my practice. My areas of expertise include: Anxiety and Depression; Substance mis-use; trauma; grief/loss; transition and stage of life changes and Identity formation. Skills I employ to support clients are mindfulness and meditation; resiliency/strengths-based approaches, DBT Skills building, Person Centered Approaches, ACT and Dance/Movement Therapy. I approach my work through a feminist centered lens and support individuals in developing strategies to think critically about their behavior patterns. I will support you in fostering a sense of personal empowerment through our work together. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
Accepting new clients! I help college students: -stop obsessing about food, their body image, or what they're eating -let go of chronic worrying and find stillness in amidst busy lives -manage their stress so that students can stay on top of all their demands -feel more in control by better organizing their time and building routine (less doom scrolling!) -feel more authentic navigating new-found independence (particularly among societal or familial pressures!) My therapeutic style is warm, authentic, and non-judgmental. I also think humor is an invaluable resource in this work. I would love to meet you -- in person or virtually!

Itās getting harder everyday to keep up with lifeās responsibilities. Youāre exhausted all the time and canāt stop thinking about future meals or the parts of your body that you hate. You want to get help but you donāt know where to turn, and nobody seems to be talking about how prevalent these issues are in men. Youāre not alone. Recent studies have shown that 25% of those diagnosed with an eating disorder are men, and that gay and bisexual men are at an even higher risk. Whether you spend hours everyday thinking about your body, limit yourself to a very strict diet, or find yourself purging after mealsā¦I see you. I know it feels like youāre drowning and canāt find anything to hold on to. But I want you to know that recovery is possible for you. The journey to get there may be long with a lot of ups and downs, but youāre not someone who backs away from a fight. You have things worth living for - and you deserve to experience them with a sense of joy and freedom. I work best with clients who are ready to make changes in their life and believe therapy can be helpful. Ideal clients are looking to establish a long-term therapeutic relationship, have an idea of what to talk about in therapy, and come prepared to sessions and ready to work hard towards bettering themselves.

Contending with life's daily pressures can often make it difficult to feel confident in your ability to thrive - and not just barely survive. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, or other concerns, therapy is a safe space where you can engage your existing coping skills and support systems while also discovering and implementing additional strategies and resources. I genuinely believe we have the resilience necessary to make meaningful, lasting changes in our lives. I employ an integrated, systemic approach to therapy and bring humility and cultural sensitivity to every interaction. I have specific experience and interest in working with pregnant and postpartum clients, and I incorporate important concepts such as coping with life transitions, communication, and boundary-setting in my work with every client. I offer supportive, affirming therapy empowering clients to achieve satisfaction in making the changes they seek. I also bring respect and compassion to the therapeutic alliance; my active and empathic listening helps clients feel validated/understood. My goal is to be your ally as we explore your innate strengths and foster your sense of self-affirmation.
September 2025 update: I have very limited availability for in-person sessions, but a little more availability for online sessions. I'll help you to become aware of your painful feelings and to learn to tolerate them, so that you're free to make choices instead of just reacting to life. I am a licensed, independent social worker. I have worked my way up to the management level of an agency, but interacting directly with clients is what I enjoy most. I have experience working with clients who have many different types of concerns, such as eating disorders, anxiety, depression, addiction, and interpersonal problems. I tailor my treatment approaches to the needs and wants of my clients. (If you have some knowledge of treatment approaches, these approaches include psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and motivational interviewing approaches). Besides my Master's in Social Work, I also have a PhD in English, so I am particularly interested in helping clients to use their reading or writing as therapy.
Iām passionate about helping individuals create a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Utah, Iām currently completing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Simmons University. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing Depression, Anxiety, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I also have a strong interest in supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, and I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings and challenges. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process, and my goal is to help you develop the tools you need to navigate lifeās difficulties, improve your mental well-being, and build a life that feels true to you. If youāre ready to take the next step in your journey toward healing and growth, I would love to work with you!
