Are the characters/themes in the Euphoria or Pixar films relatable? Do you find yourself connecting your feelings to movies, music, tv, or books? Maybe you're experiencing a recent life change of being in a new environment, newly found independence, a new job, relationship status, recent move, or exploring sobriety, and it sucks doing it alone. Can you relate to the “buzz” of anxiety Ted Lasso felt when his “panic” crept in. Are you the Nick Miller of the group, struggling with holding boundaries, overthink the little things, or feel you are your own worst enemy? How about Chidi Anagonye, uncertain of all your decisions? You feel motivated, yet unsure of how to get started? You’re trying to navigate this fucked up world, while just trying to have the "normal" college experience. Imagine feeling more confident and passionate in your pursuits like Leslie Knope. You want to be more present in your day to day and embrace a feeling of calm. Boundaries? You become a master of that shit! Implementing and enforcing them in your life.

I am Wendie Lubinsky, the Owner and CEO of WML Wellness LLC and Wendie Lubinsky Counseling PLLC in Holly Springs, NC, a Whole Health Wellness Company. I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, certified Personal Trainer, Nutritional Coach, Mental Toughness Coach, Group Fitness Instructor, and Weight Loss Coach. I am also a PhD candidate at Capella University in Counselor Education and Supervision. I specialize in the combination of Mental Health and physical wellness through Nutritional Counseling and Physical Fitness for a holistic approach to wellness. My experience in the wellness field began with personal training and nutritional coaching in 2001 by helping clients achieve their goals with motivational and goal oriented programs while simultaneously helping them overcome personal obstacles. While working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, I obtained my Life Coaching certificate and focused on helping clients achieve a healthy mindset and relationship with food focusing on nutrition and life balance. My combined treatment plan of Whole Health Wellness looks at the mind-body connection to understand why we have physical consequences such as chronic disease when we are not balanced nutritionally, physically, or have an unhealthy outlook on life. My research and experience with eating disorders has led to the whole health wellness perspective and approach to a holistic view of healthcare and wellness. I have continued to work in the field of nutrition, weight management, and mental health to date (19 years) and am excited to continue my journey in the PhD program. In practicum and internship during my masters, I worked at both a neurocounseling and biofeedback office and in a private practice setting with individuals, groups, couples, and families providing services for adolescents and adults. Areas of therapy include behavioral difficulties, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, obsessive/compulsiveness, trauma, relationships, family difficulties, eating disorders, infertility, and sex counseling.
*While I am not in-network with the Dartmouth Student Health Plan, I do bill that plan directly as an out-of-network provider, and students only pay a $30 copay each session.* I have been working with college-age students and young professionals throughout my career, and have previously been employed at both The University of Vermont and Dartmouth College. My goal is to understand my clients' concerns through their lens while reflecting back what seems to be getting in the way of achieving their goals. I am a compassionate provider, who actively engages with my clients making every effort to provide direct and honest feedback. I understand the rigors and challenges of adjusting to college life and the real and perceived pressure that many college students face. I spend time understanding what my clients are hoping to get from therapy, and work hard to help them move from suffering to thriving. As a Mental Health Counselor and Registered Dietitian I consider a client holistically when assessing their needs and focus on the health of the body and the mind.

I consider myself fortunate to be able to work in a profession that I truly love and I consider a privilege to be invited into my clients' inner lives, and to travel this journey with them through healing, change, and self-empowerment. My primary goal as a counselor is to create an open and non-judgmental space in which clients can express their thoughts and feelings freely. None of us are without our struggles, and I find it beneficial for each of us to have a space where we can explore these struggles reflectively and creatively. I aspire to gain a holistic understanding of my clients, their life experiences, and their issues, so that we might collectively explore opportunities for growth through evidence-based practice. I find great value in person-centered, cognitive behavioral, acceptance & commitment, and existential therapies. However, perhaps the greatest determinant of success is a relationship built upon mutual trust and understanding between counselor and client. I believe that sound counseling practice is an active, and at times difficult, process for the client. However, take comfort in the fact that it is my mission as a counselor to walk with you through trial and tribulation. I would be honored to join you on your journey.
