Hello! I am Jessica Rose. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have a BA in Psychology and an MSW in Social Work. I have been working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in a therapeutic capacity for over 13 years. I have experience working in a variety of settings such as public schools, alternative schools, crisis teams, hospitals, homes, and juvenile detention centers. My guiding principles are validating feelings, active listening, and using humor and open communication as a means to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. I am a reliable, consistent support for my clients. I believe in genuine positive regard, being non-judgmental, being warm, understanding, and empathetic.
I believe that warmth, understanding and compassion are the key to any successful and supportive therapeutic relationship and these qualities are the foundation of my practice. I have been providing counseling services to individuals, couples and families for a number of years in a variety of settings and one thing has always been the same; I learn something new from each and every client and the relationship that is built through the course of treatment is where the healing is created. I tailor my approach based on the needs of my clients and collaborate with them to identify their goals.

Hadleigh Roy is a dedicated and compassionate counselor with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Robert Morris University. Her primary focus is on working with individuals and families dealing with a wide range of issues, including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, sexuality, and trauma. Hadleigh has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings, including outpatient, family therapy, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. She is particularly skilled in utilizing a family-based approach to treating children and adolescents with eating disorders. In addition, Hadleigh has worked in an early education setting, providing Child-Centered Play Therapy to children experiencing trauma, grief, and loss. Hadleigh's treatment approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. She draws on a variety of evidence-based treatments, including Client-Centered Therapy, Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, The Maudsley Family-Based Method, Mindfulness, and Psychoeducation. Her goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors and working towards positive change.
I have worked with people of all backgrounds but I generally work with women and the LGBT community. I work with clients on self-esteem, body positivity, anxiety management, trauma symptoms, and relational issues. As a human and a provider, I am feminist, anti-racist, fat positive, sex positive, pro-science, pro-vaccine, and pro-LGBT. My approach is varied depending on the individual's history with treatment. For people new to therapy, it may be helpful to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT involves looking at thoughts patterns and behaviors that may be creating obstacles in your life and setting up appropriate coping skills to address those issues. For people who come to therapy for the purpose of processing trauma, a trauma-informed, relational approach is necessary. For people who are looking to gain understanding about how their past intersects with their present behaviors, insight oriented therapy would be the best approach. I am not a "Listen and Nod" therapist. I will actively listen, provide you with feedback and analysis, and be open with you about your diagnosis, prognosis, and any treatments indicated. With full transparency, I say that I am not a validation-only therapist. Some folks want a therapist who will listen and validate without providing feedback or analysis. That is not my style. I will, however, work with you to figure out exactly how you can benefit from therapy.

Respecting that you are the expert on your life and goals, I will integrate my training and experiences to support you in growth. Individuals often work with me to shift patterns of anxiety or depressed mood, to reclaim the energy wasted on perfectionism or overly harsh self-criticism, to reduce procrastination and improve effectiveness, to make progress on health goals, to improve the quality of their relationships, and to manage stress more efficiently. I also specialize in perinatal mental health (pregnancy, post-partum, fertility, loss) and in working with parents of children of all ages. Most people I work with choose online therapy, and some meet with me in the office. As a member of PSYPACT I can often continue to work with you online while you visit home or work/study outside of PA. (For participating states: https://psypact.org/page/psypactmap)
