My goal is to bring a warm presence, calm demeanor, and intentionality to the therapeutic space. I understand that building connection and rapport are the foundation to all other therapeutic work and therefore I prioritize an environment where you can feel truly seen, heard, and understood without judgement. My purpose as a therapist is to provide that safe place where together we can explore your conscious and unconscious thoughts and gain insight into the parts of your life where you may be having difficulty. I recognize that therapy is a collaborative effort, and that each client is the expert in their own life. Thus, I will work with you to understand your unique life experiences and create a tailored treatment plan so that you can reach healing and wholeness. I will assist you on this journey by helping you understand how past experiences are impacting you, and will help you identify your own strengths, skills, and goals by providing tools that you can use even long after therapy is finished. I have experience supporting needs related to: children and youth, young adults, families, life transitions, drug and alcohol issues, trauma, attachment challenges, co-dependency, self-esteem, depression, suicidal ideation, grief, and anxiety.
I understand it is difficult to seek help. Typically the idea of therapy can feel overwhelming especially if it is the first time. I strive to make the therapeutic process comfortable and accessible. Through the use of a more direct style of therapy and evidence-based approaches, I help Clients take an active approach to making change in their lives. As the former the Director of Behavioral Health of the University of Oregon's Athletic Department and other university counseling positions, I have experience working with individuals in college settings. I specialize working with those who are experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, sports performance, men’s issues, and disordered eating. Populations I also have experience working with are professional/collegiate and Olympic level athletes, persons of color, and men. My hope is that you feeling safe enough to take on the challenge of enacting change in your life. I offer therapy that's largely integrative, pulling from several different theories and adapting my approach to best fit the identities, needs, and style of each client. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment in which my clients can feel both supported and challenged. Having a space to share vulnerably and work on personal growth and healing is a great opportunity, but it's also very hard work! Since I ask my clients to show up vulnerably, I try to do the same, bringing my authentic self to the room. I look forward to conversations about how our similarities and differences impact our work. I frequently work with survivors of trauma, provide letters of support for gender affirming healthcare, discuss neurodiversity, and help clients explore their sexual and/or gender identity. I have specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, as well as disordered eating and body image concerns. I work from a non-dieting, health at every size paradigm. I view therapy as a collaborative process, one that depends largely on the relationship built between client and therapist. I offer free, brief phone consultations to discuss goodness of fit and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
My passion is to assist people who desire to get unstuck, be more confident, feel more relaxed, connect with others, feel less irritable, communicate better, understand their dreams and are looking for meaning and purpose in their lives. Another good fit would be if you feel that you are lacking direction in your life or feel like "something is missing" but aren't sure what it is or how to find it.
I provide empathetic, personalized support to college students who are working to adjust to a college environment, managing new and difficult social situations, or working on themselves and discovering their identity now that they are away from home. My approach tends to be more casual and less clinical. I'm excited to help students explore any new and challenging areas they are facing in college.

Hello, I’m Sarah. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 15 years of experience working in youth and family mental health services. My background includes work in community mental health and school-based programs as both a therapist and school social worker. My training and clinical experience have focused on supporting youth and families, survivors of childhood sexual abuse and their families, and individuals experiencing school-related challenges. I work with teens ages 14 and older, as well as adults, and strive to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and supported. I believe therapy works best when built on trust, collaboration, and genuine human connection. My approach is strengths-based, skills-focused, and collaborative. I believe you already possess strengths, resilience, and capabilities that can serve as a foundation for growth and healing. Together, we’ll build on those existing strengths while developing practical skills to help you navigate challenges more effectively. Depending on your needs and goals, this may include strengthening communication skills, emotional regulation, coping strategies, mindfulness, boundary-setting, or problem-solving techniques. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space that focuses on your strengths, goals, and capacity for growth rather than simply on what may be “wrong.” I want you to feel heard, understood, and empowered as we work together to help you move toward the life you want.
My style is warm and supportive. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches (cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, brief solution focused therapy, and family systems theory) to help clients feel heard, share their story, decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression, address traumas, and improve the quality of their lives. I emphasize strengths, and help clients set realistic and achievable goals.
Trauma recovery involves the process of healing both the body and mind from overwhelming experiences by reconnecting with oneself in an integrated way. It includes developing interoception—the ability to sense and interpret internal bodily cues—which helps individuals notice and respond to their emotional and physical states with greater awareness and regulation. Recovery also involves working with both implicit memories (unconscious, body-held responses like tension or startle reflexes) and explicit memories (conscious, narrative recollections of events). Through therapeutic approaches that access these memory systems, individuals begin to make sense of their experiences, reduce reactivity, and create new, safer associations, allowing for a more grounded and empowered sense of self.
As a therapist, I am passionate about supporting teenagers and young adults who are seeking to work through trauma and move forward in their lives. My own experiences and being around others who have faced trauma inspired me to pursue this path, and I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming space for anyone who wants to begin their healing journey. I have experience working with a diverse range of clients, including veterans and members of the LGBTQ+ community, and I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I strive to do what is best for your over all well-being. I have been working in the mental health field for 9 years with a focus on adolescents and young adults but take all clients of any age.
I provide comprehensive medication management for ADHD, depression, insomnia, PMDD, PTSD, and weight management. But I don't just treat symptoms. I treat the whole person. That means we're going to look at the full picture: your sleep habits, screen time, nutrition, movement, stress levels, and how you communicate. Because all of it matters. Your brain doesn't exist in a vacuum, and neither do your symptoms. If you're running on autopilot, procrastinating on work, can't focus, can't sleep, can't stick to the routines you know would help... you're frustrated with your eating habits, your exercise patterns, or how you feel during certain times of the month, or maybe you just don't feel like yourself lately. I can help. If you're ready to stop wasting energy on what drains you and start investing it where it actually counts, let's get started.

Many of the students I work best with are navigating big transitions—adjusting to college or grad school, balancing academics with athletics, managing relationships, or figuring out what comes next. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or unsure of how to move forward. Some students come to me struggling with stress, burnout, or motivation, while others are working through challenges like past trauma, substance use, or relationship patterns that no longer serve them. I have a particular interest in supporting student-athletes and individuals dealing with performance pressure, identity, and the unique demands of competitive environments. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in old patterns and want to create meaningful, lasting change. In our work together, I focus on creating a space where you can be open, honest, and fully yourself without judgment. Therapy with me is collaborative—we’ll work as a team to better understand what’s going on and develop practical tools that fit your life. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and equipped to handle challenges now and in the future.
I specialize in effective therapy for adults who are suffering from anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and assertiveness issues. I enjoy working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community and other minority populations. I have seven years of experience in working with college and university students. This has sparked my interest in working on topics such as life transition, career exploration, and examinations of one's identities. Many clients have expressed appreciation for my authenticity, warmth, and caring nature. I tend to integrate somatic and cognitive/behavioral modalities.
